The mission of the Planning and Zoning Department is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public and to enhance the county's aesthetic appearance, maintain and improve the commercial and residential environment, and raise the general quality of life in unincorporated Creek County. In addition, it is the Department's intent to implement comprehensive programs in regard to land development, floodplain management, and neighborhood/subdivision preservation.

The Department is responsible for the processing of proposed land development projects. Types of actions processed by the Department include: Lot-Splits, Special Exception requests, Variances, Rezoning, New Site Plan applications, Major and Minor Subdivision Plats, GIS Mapping, and CCPC Future Land Use Map (FLUM) amendments. All applications are reviewed in consideration of applicable development standards and regulations.

The Department is staff to the Creek County Planning Commission (CCPC), Creek County Board of Adjustment (CCBOA), and the Creek County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).
