Creek County was established in 1907 at statehood, Creek County is named after the Creek tribe. Creek County covers 970 square miles. The county courthouse, located in Sapulpa, "The Heart of Historic Route 66", was built in 1914. Creek County is the tenth-most populated county in the state of Oklahoma out of 77 counties. The population, as of April 1, 2020, was 71,754 per the population census.
